Announcing New Middle School Scholarship Assistance
(Garden City) In celebration of our school’s tenth anniversary, St. Michael Catholic School is pleased to announce scholarship funds are now available for a student/students (of any denomination) entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in 2009-2010. We offer innovative courses and activities like Latin, Robotics and more, taught by an exceptional teaching staff with modest class sizes that are conducive to learning so students receive the individual attention they deserve. Thanks to our philanthropic ministries, the generosity of our parish, alumni and our charitable donors, we have a unique opportunity to give back to our community by offering financial assistance to a new student/students who would otherwise not be able to attend our school. Winner(s) will be selected by a committee of impartial judges without regard to: race, nationality, citizenship or religion.
Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:
Financial need – 50%
Academic standing – 20%
Leadership – 15%
Entrance Essay – 10%
Extenuating circumstances – 5%
Eligibility: Candidates must be entering middle school (grades 6,7,8) in academic year 2009-2010. Candidate(s) must be in good standing with the community, current school and not previously enrolled at St. Michael Catholic School. Applicants will be required to write an essay entitled “Why I Want To Become A Student At St. Michael Catholic School.”

All applications and supporting documents must be completed and submitted to the school office by May 1, 2009. Applications received later than May 1, 2009, will not be considered.
St. Michael Catholic School is a Catholic elementary school educating students from Horry and Georgetown counties in grades pre-k through eighth.
