Each year, the PTO is required to raise money for our school. This year, we need to raise $35,000 to help offset school’s operational expense. Tuition usually rises according to the “cost of living” increase which is usually between 3 and 5%. Tuition is earmarked for salaries, maintenance, supplies and instructional costs: textbooks, library, computer programs, special projects, etc. The Church pays utilities and any other overhead expenses incurred. Our tuition covers about 70% of the cost of the school. The rest is covered by fund raising, donations, grants and our church. Our participation in PTO sponsored events is crucial to the fiscal health of the school and to keep tuition cost down.

Parents and caregivers of registered students are required to volunteer as part of our “FAIR SHARE POLICY”. For additional information, please visit the PTO News page for details and ways you can help with specific events. However, if you are not a parent or caregiver, and would still like to volunteer, there are many ways in which you can assist St. Michael Catholic School.
