Uniform and Dress Code Information

GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING OUR DRESS CODE

All students are required to wear the school uniform purchased from Lands’ End beginning the first day of school. The uniform should be kept clean and neat at all times. Children should report to school well groomed. In addition, all clothing worn at school events (whether during or after school hours) must be modest, tasteful, and in accordance with Catholic moral standards. Torn, faded, or oversized clothing is not allowed. Hooded sweatshirts may not be worn in the classroom, or at Mass. Older boys must be clean-shaven. Hair should be neatly groomed (out of the eyes) and natural in color. Boys’ hair should be cut above the collar and above the eyebrow and no longer than mid-ear on the sides. Uniform blouses and shirts must be worn inside skirts, shorts (skorts), or trousers for students in Grades 1-8. Belts are required for any garment with belt loops. Skirt/skort/short length should be no shorter than 6” above the knee when kneeling. Dress uniforms will be worn on Mass days and any other day designated by the principal. Flat dress shoes may be worn with dress uniform. One simple watch, ring, necklace and tasteful bracelet are permitted. Girls’ earrings should be single stud worn in the ear lobe or a small hoop / dangle no longer than 1 inch. Tattoos are prohibited. Earrings on boys are prohibited. Saint Michael School team sweatshirts may be worn by team members only. Items purchased on our LOGOWEAR page are not considered part of our uniform.

Please note: our new supplier calls our hunter green color “evergreen” on most items. When purchasing green items, select from either “evergreen” or “hunter green” when given the option.

Boy’s Casual Uniform

·         Lands’ End plain khaki slacks or shorts

·         Solid black or brown belt (Grades 1-8)

·         Hunter/Evergreen Saint Michael Catholic School polo shirt with logo

·         Saint Michael sweater or sweatshirt; (All other sweaters and sweatshirts are prohibited in the classroom.)

·         Solid white socks.

·         Non-skid sneakers or dress shoes with no light-up sneakers, character shoes, boots, or Heelys (even without wheels) are allowed. Sneakers must be worn during gym class..

·         School t-shirt may be worn on PE days.

Boy’s Dress Uniform (Grades Pre-K through Grade 5)

·         Lands’ End white Saint Michael Catholic School polo shirt with logo

·         Lands’ End plain khaki slacks

Boy’s Dress Uniform (Grades 6-8)

·         Lands’ End white dress shirt with logo and school plaid tie

·         Lands’ End plain khaki slacks

Girl’s Casual Uniform

·         Lands’ End khaki skirt, skort, or plain khaki pants (Grades PK4-Grade 8)

·         Lands’ End khaki shorts (Grades PK4-Grade 3 only)

·         Hunter/Evergreen Saint Michael Catholic School polo shirt with logo

·         Saint Michael sweater and sweatshirt; (All other sweaters and sweatshirts are prohibited in the classroom.)

·         Solid white socks or ‘gator’/’SMCS’ socks (White, black, or green tights may be worn during winter months – no leggings.)

·         Small hair accessories in white, hunter green, beige (khaki) or black

·         Non-skid sneakers or dress shoes – no light-up sneakers, character shoes, boots, or Heelys (even without wheels) are allowed. Sneakers must be worn during gym class.

·         School t-shirt may be worn on PE days.

Girl’s Dress Uniform (Grades Pre-K through Grade 5)

·         Lands’ End khaki skort or skirt

·         Lands’ End white blouse with logo and peter pan collar

·         Clean white socks

Girl’s Dress Uniform (Grades 6-8)
