The JROTC unit at Socastee High School recently announced that Christian Mateo has been selected to attend the Air Force 2006 Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp this summer. He is one of only 500 students selected from a field of over 107,000 cadets. To be selected, students not only have to be high academic achievers, but also have the potential and desire for a career in a technical aerospace field. He will be attending camp at Wright State University and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, July 23-28.
The honors camp is a Secaretary of the Air Force initiative to orient cadets to aerospace technology, educational opportunities and aerospace related careers through a hands-on curriculum. Mateo will see first hand university and Air Force programs relating to science, engineering and technology and will be given an orientation flight where he will pilot an aircraft under the supervision of an instructor pilot.
Congratulations Christian. We at St. Michael Catholic School are proud of your accomplishments.

Pawleys Island| As usual this season, Justin Blomdahl was the catalyst for Waccamaw.
“He’s doing incredible work,” Waccamaw coach Ben Schoen said. “If he gets the ball in the middle of the goal, it’s going in. He just doesn’t miss opportunities.” Overall Schoen was impressed with the the way his team responded… We played very well…
Congratulations Justin! We at St. Michael Catholic School wish you luck!
