Tuition Policy

School tuition must be paid by one of the following methods:

  1. The entire amount in one payment in August
  2. Two payments; one in August and the second in January
  3. Ten monthly drafts from checking or savings account: Sept. – June.
In order for the school to remain in fiscal condition, it is necessary for us to collect tuition on time. Tuition is due the FIRST OF EACH MONTH. Payment is considered late after the tenth of each month. A $30 late fee is charged for tuition paid after the tenth of each month. Pastor or principal may request that a student(s) be withdrawn from the school due to non-payment of tuition. NO STUDENT may enroll for the next year unless ALL bills are paid. IN ADDITION: Any family who has insufficient funds when paying by check will be charged a $30 service fee which is charged to the school by the bank. Catholic Tuition: Tuition for Parishioners is less than the real cost of educating a child at St. Michael Catholic School.
The difference is made up by the parish churches in the form of tuition assistance for each child.
Therefore, in order to qualify for the special reduced Catholic rate, one must be a registered and contributing member (using their envelopes) of their parish church.
The membership is verified yearly in each parish.
What does the tuition cover and how often does it increase? Tuition usually rises according to the “cost of living” increase which is usually between 3 and 5%. The PTO plays a major part in our school budget. They are committed to raise over $35,000 each year. Tuition is earmarked for salaries, maintenance, supplies and instructional costs: textbooks, library, computer programs, special projects, etc. Our tuition covers about 70% of the cost of the school. The rest is covered by fundraising, donations, grants and our church parishioners. Contact Miriam Jones with questions regarding tuition.
